Topp Twins Movie Untouchable!

New Zealand icons, the Topp Twins, launch "The Topp
Twins: Untouchable Girls" - a movie celebrating their lives
and work in April.
The Topp Twins are supporters of BCAC member group,
the Breast Cancer Foundation, and have also supported
the Herceptin Heroes.
The movie touches on Jools’ recent brush with breast cancer
with much laughter, honesty and wisdom.
The critically acclaimed film follows the pair’s
extraordinary personal story which has seen them move
from singing with the cows in the rural backwaters of
the Waikato, to performing on the streets of Auckland during
the heady days of political protest marches in the 1980s,
and finally to starring on the international stage at
premier events in London’s West End and at the Rugby World Cup.
Celebrating their half century this year, the Topp Twins have attained a unique status within New Zealand culture, and their story, humour and performances appeal to fans who range from hard core political activists, to sheep farmers and “ladies who lunch”.
Their film is billed as being a big story that is not just about two sisters, but is also about 50 years of New Zealand history. It covers half a century of cultural changes and the foundation of a national identity, and it’s funny to boot!
Critics have praised the film, with the Melbourne Age saying “Break down the doors to see them” and the Glasgow Herald labelling the Topp Twins as “New Zealand’s finest artistic export since lamb cutlets.”
It promises to be a fantastic night out, so spoil yourself and go! Find out where it's showing now.
