The Louise Perkins Foundation is pleased to announce the appointment of Jane Austin to the position of CEO of Sweet Louise, the Foundation's charitable arm providing support and services to New Zealand women and men living with secondary breast cancer.
Jane will take up her new role in early September, replacing outgoing CEO Sue Brewster who has led the organisation for almost three and a half years. Sue leaves to take up a senior role with Surf Life Saving Northern which will allow her to spend more time with family and is aligned with her personal passion having qualified as a Surf Life Saver in October 2012. Sue has made a very significant contribution to Sweet Louise for which the board and staff are most grateful. Notable milestones under Sue’s leadership include expanding Sweet Louise through the North Island, securing increased funding support that has enabled Sweet Louise’s growth, enhancing the connectivity between various agencies seeking to assist women with breast cancer and fostering a close working relationship with the New Zealand Breast Cancer Foundation. This leaves Sweet Louise well placed for Jane to take over the reins and lead the organisation in its expansion plans while continuing to play a vital role in established communities.
Jane comes to Sweet Louise with an extensive business and not-for-profit management background. She was formerly the General Manager for Marketing and Fundraising for The Royal Flying Doctor Service in Sydney and prior to that held the position of Senior Director for Marketing and Communications at The George Institute for Global Health in Sydney. She was with Telecom from 1989 to 2002 and finished as the General Manager Corporate Communications and has also run her own strategic consulting and planning business. Jane is currently a Member of the Advisory Board for the Invitation to Health (NSW) and a Director on the Asthma Foundation Board.
The Louise Perkins Foundation gratefully acknowledges the valuable contribution Sue Brewster has made to the development of Sweet Louise support services and looks forward to working with Jane in her new role.
