BCAC welcomes the announcement from BreastScreen Aotearoa that Dr Marli Gregory has been appointed as its new clinical leader.

Marli says she is excited at the opportunity to work with BreastScreen Aotearoa and the NSU, and looks forward to extending her skills and knowledge into new areas.

“I am proud to be part of helping all New Zealand women have access to our world class breast screening programme.”

Marli graduated from the Auckland School of Medicine in 1990, and worked in Auckland hospitals for five years. She then spent five years in general practice, until 2000, when ‒ recognising an increasing interest in women’s health ‒ she accepted a position as a breast physician at St Marks Breast Centre in Auckland. In 2005, Marli worked as breast physician and clinical co-ordinator at a private breast clinic in Melbourne, Australia. In 2007 she returned to New Zealand and became part of the team at Breast Associates in Auckland.

A member of the Auckland Breast Cancer Study Group since 2004, Marli has also served on the NZ Breast Cancer Foundation’s Medical Advisory Committee for six years, including two years as the Chair; stepping down in Feb 2011. Her role as Clinical Leader at BSA is a .4 FTE position.
