Kenzie's Gift launches 'Memories to Heaven'

On a glorious summer’s evening during March, a group of mums, dads, grandparents and children gathered on an Auckland beach to launch ‘Memories to Heaven’, an awareness initiative from Kenzie's Gift highlighting that children grieve when they have experienced the death of someone they love.

Kenzie's Gift receives Round the Bay 2015 donation

Kenzie's Gift was the grateful recipient of a donation from this year's Round the Bays event held on 8 March in Auckland.

Eight charities shared in the $100,000 donation. Kenzie's Gift CEO Nic Russell (second from left) is seen here at the presentation receiving a cheque for $9,000 from Round the Bays organisers. "It's a wonderful donation for which we are so grateful," said Nic. "These funds will go a long way towards helping us to provide our services to children and families."

PINC & STEEL are really excited by the positive response they have had from women with breast cancer registering for their brand new Pinc NEXT STEPS program.  They have funding from the New Zealand Breast Cancer Foundation for 10 women in each of the following regions: Orewa, Albany, Mt Eden, Hamilton, Mount Maunganui, Rotorua, Napier, Welington, Nelson, Christchurch, Timaru, Dunedin and Invercargill.

Merthyr Ruxton Exhibition to benefit BCAC

Artist Penny Kember, who paints under the name Merthyr Ruxton, will open a new exhibition this week at the Railway St Studios in Newmarket, Auckland.

Following her own diagnosis and recovery from breast cancer some years ago Penny has generously agreed to donate a portion of the sales proceeds to the Breast Cancer Aotearoa Coalition (BCAC).

NZ women less likely to survive breast cancer than their Australian sisters

A recently published paper by a New Zealand surgeon comparing breast cancer survival rates in Australia and New Zealand reveals lower overall survival rates at five years for New Zealand women, with Māori and Pacific survival found to be significantly worse than other ethnicities.

The Breast Cancer Aotearoa Coalition (BCAC) provides a united voice for NZ women who are experiencing breast cancer. We support, inform and represent those with breast cancer so they can make informed choices about their treatment and care.
